We spent last week at the beach and it was wonderful! I had grand ideas of relaxing and doing a little hand sewing, but obviously I've never been on vacation with a 5 year old and a 1 year old! Vacation was nice, but not relaxing!
Since we've been home, I've been getting caught up on the projects I feel like I'm behind on. I got all of my pieces cut for the Clover and Violet QAL. They posted the first block while I was away, so I need to get it done before the next one comes out!
I've also gotten a little behind on my Birdie Stitches blocks, because I couldn't make myself sew all of those little squares together for the border! I finally sat down and put 4 of them together. I finished up the May block last night and will probably finish the June block tonight. So far the May block is my favorite, but the pic isn't very good at all. My sister has ended up with my camera after the beach trip, and I haven't gotten it back yet so these are cell phone pictures. The colors are a little off and I haven't bothered to iron it yet!
My goal for the next week is to get the birds finished, do the first Clover block, and to get the Skill Builder Sampler started. Is anyone else doing any of these? I'd like to see how they are coming along for you! I'm trying to resist the Farmer's Wife QAL, but the blocks that everyone keeps posting are really cute! I am going to try to do the Kaleidoscope QAL at Don't Call Me Betsy. I think a baby quilt would be a nice project to work on. I'm still working on quilting the huge Plus Quilt, so I think a small one wil be a much needed change!

Love your birdie stitches! That is going to be a darling quilt! Good luck with your qa too!
I can't believe you're doing both! I am doing C&L's Embroidery 101. Love your birdie block!
Love your block! I'm doing the Skill builder and the Stitch and QAL. I'm done with both of the first blocks...though I still have to piece the rest of my SQAL blocks. I've posted them in my flickr account...AMKreations...if you'd like to see.
Can't wait to see yours!
I'm doing the Clover and Violet QAL. I was out of town when she posted the first one too, so it sounds like we are at the same spot. Do you have a link for the Birdie one? That is so cute. I saw the button on your sidebar, but it didn't click for me. I'll do a little more clicking around to see if I can find something though. I am sort of following the skill builder and hope to incorporate some of those into a sampler I am already doing and do a few more just for the practice, but I am not planning to do the whole series with them.
